Structurally merging models

You can combine models that do not have a common ancestor by comparing their structures. When you combine models, you merge the content of the source model into the target model. You should always save a backup copy of the original target model because you overwrite the target model after you complete a structural merge.

Procedure

  1. In the Project Explorer view, select two models.
  2. Right-click the selection; then click Combine Models.
  3. In the Combine Models dialog box, select a target model and click OK.
