Robotic accessors
Robotic accessors move cartridges within the library in response to SCSI commands or manual move requests from the library’s interfaces. The accessor resource includes attributes that describe its two grippers and one bar code reader.
The IBM® TS4500 libraries either have one (single-accessor library) or two (dual-accessor library) accessors. Dual accessors are used to create a high availability solution that continues to operate even if one of the accessors becomes inoperative. The IBM Diamondback libraries have only one accessor.
