Powering on the library

Power on the IBM® Diamondback tape library to begin the library initialization sequence and bring the library to a ready state.

Procedure

Complete the following steps to power on the library:

  1. Go to the rear door  1  of the library and slide up the plastic cover  2  for the power button.
  2. Press the power button  3  it will turn green when the frame it powered up.
    If the power indicator light fails to turn on, contact your IBM service representative.

Results

When you power on the library, it runs an initialization sequence for about 2 minutes. During that time, the library is not available. After the initialization sequence, the library does an inventory of the tape cartridges.
