A010 - Cartridge was not detected from the previous inventory

A tape cartridge is unexpectedly missing from a previous inventory. This can be caused by a cartridge that is no longer located in the library where it is expected. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and fix the problem, and if needed, remove a stuck cartridge from a gripper.

Fix procedure

  1. Put the library in service mode:
    1. From the management GUI., go to Actions > Change Library State.
    2. Choose In Service Mode (Offline) option and then click the Set button.
  2. Open the front door.
  3. Check the library floor for fallen cartridges. If found, confirm the cartridge is in good shape and place it in an available slot.
  4. If a cartridge is inside a gripper, follow the “Cartridge removal from gripper” procedure.
  5. Close door.
  6. Set the library online:
    1. From the management GUI., go to Actions > Change Library State.
    2. Choose Online option and then click the Set button.
  7. Run an inventory - scan all tiers.
Attention: If the problem has occurred multiple times and still not resolved, contact IBM support to discuss the robotic accessor replacement.

Damaged Components
During the procedure, if any part is found physically damaged, replace the applicable Customer Replacement Unit (CRU). See Customer service procedures.
