3440 - A 12V DC power supply had intermittent power drops during the last 24 hours

A 12 V DC power supply had intermittent power drops during the last 24 hours. This could be caused by the power source seeing power peaks/drops or a faulty power supply. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the issue.

Fix procedure

  1. Make sure the power source where the library power supplies are plugged in and in correct working order (no power peaks/drops). If problem is not solved, go to next step.
    Tip: Refer to your facility's electrical personnel for power peaks/drops.
  2. If the problem persists, replace the reported power supply. See the power supply servicing procedures.
  3. If the problem still persists, contact IBM support.

Damaged Components
During the procedure, if any part is found physically damaged, replace the applicable Customer Replacement Unit (CRU). See Customer service procedures.
