Loading tables from a VSAM or IMS data source

No separate loading step exists for VSAM or IMS tables. Once you start synchronization by using the slider button on the Overview tab of the Data Gate for watsonx instance dashboard, the load process starts for all tables. You cannot select and load individual tables.

About this task

The state of a table is shown as active when the initial loading has finished and the mirroring of changes in the source has been started. During the initial loading phase, the state is shown as loading.

Attention: While the synchronization process is running, do not manually change the received data in the storage object from the watsonx.data user interface. Doing so breaks the synchronization process and compromises the integrity of the data.

There are some limitations:

The initial load of tables happens sequentially. If you add further tables, replication of existing tables can be delayed.
During an initial load, you cannot add or remove more tables. This action stops the subscription and terminates the current load.
