New functions in Data Gate for watsonx

Data Gate is now able to connect to Db2® for z/OS® with a client certificate instead of using basic authorization credentials. More information can be found at Configuring a Data Gate for watsonx instance for Db2 for z/OS data sources (step 4).

Issues fixed in this release

The following VSAM/IMS issues were fixed in this release:

The target table columns are always created as NOT NULL, even if the source table column is defined in Classic Data Architect as nullable.
The deletion of rows based on a table with a large number of columns causes the select statement with Presto on Watsonx.data not to work.

Changed software dependencies in Data Gate for watsonx

Important: To allow Data Gate service to connect to Db2 for z/OS, you must use an active Db2 Connect Unlimited Edition license to establish a connection to Db2 for z/OS. More details on how to activate it can be found at Activating the license for Db2 Connect Unlimited Edition.

New functions in Data Gate for watsonx

AWS AssumeRoleWithWebIdentity authentication support for Db2 for z/OS sources. More information can be found at Setting up AWS AssumeRoleWithWebIdentity authentication.
Certificate-based authentication. It is now possible to configure a certificate for opening connections to z/OS and Red Hat® OpenShift® instead of using username/password-based authentication.
