Installer problems
Occasionally, problems do occur as you run the Data Gate for Confluent Installer. Here, you find solutions to common problems.
Java runtime missing
Symptoms
The program does not start.
Causes
A Java runtime environment (java executable program) cannot be found.
Resolving the problem
Install a compatible Java runtime environment. If Java exists, make sure the path to the executable program is included in the path that is used by your command shell.
File extraction does not work
Symptoms
File extraction does not work as you run the installer. You might receive one or more error messages.
Causes
The unzip program cannot be found.
Resolving the problem
Ensure that the unzip program is available, and that the path to the program is included in the path used by your command shell. If unzip is unavailable, consider running the installer on a different computer where unzip is installed.
Product licence unavailable
Symptoms
The program cannot be started. You receive a message saying that a product license is not available.
Causes
The license files, which should have been copied by the installer, cannot be found.
Resolving the problem
Make sure that the installation was completed successfully and that license files exist in the following directory:
prepared-plugin/debezium-connector-db2z/ibm-license/<version>
where <version> is the actual version number of your Data Gate for Confluent release, such as
1.1.0.
