Creating a stub that includes a performance profile

You can save performance data at the same time that you save recorded events for a stub in Recording Studio.

  1. In Recording Studio, record a set of events and select the ones to save.
  2. Click the Save Events icon ().

  3. On the Resource Type page of the Recorded Events wizard, click stubs and then select with performance profiles.
    The performance profile option is checked under the stubs heading.
  4. Complete the steps in the wizard as you normally would.
    Make sure that your transactions are grouped properly. For example, pair requests with matching replies.
    The wizard extracts the timing data from the recorded events to automatically populate the performance profile.
In addition to the stub that is normally created, a performance profile is added to the Test Data folder of the resource tree in Test Factory. The profile has the same name as the stub it was created with. When you run the stub, it uses the phases that are described in the profile to modulate its responses.
