Installing by specifying the repository location
If you have Installation Manager installed, and you downloaded and extracted the installation packages to your computer, you can start the installation by specifying the location of the installation file repositories.
- Download all of the files required for the installation and extract them to a repository location in the recommended structure.
- If you download the launchpad package and point to the repository.config file in that package, the locations of all the required installation files and the update repositories are preconfigured. Provided you extracted all the installation files in the recommended structure, Installation Manager finds all the required files automatically, and you do not need to create separate repository locations for each of the installation packages.
- If you downloaded only the core installation packages and not the launchpad package, you must create repository locations that point to the disktag.inf file in each package. If there are multiple packages, you must create repository locations for each package. If a package contains multiple disks, create repository locations pointing to each disktag.inf file or supply the information when prompted during the installation.
