Enabling floating licenses

You can enable the installed product to use a floating license from the pool of licenses that you purchased and deployed on a license server.

You must have completed the following activities:
  • Purchased licenses to use the product.
  • Set up a license server.
  • Installed the product on your computer.
  1. Open Installation Manager, if it is not already open.

    The main page of Installation Manager is displayed.

  2. Click Manage Licenses.

    The products that you installed by using Installation Manager are listed.

  3. Select the product for which you want to enable the floating licenses.
  4. Select the Configure Floating license support option, and then click Next.
  5. Review and accept the license agreement, and then click Next.

    The Floating License Support page is displayed.

  6. Perform the following steps:
    1. Select the Enable floating license enforcement option.
    2. Click the Add icon image of the add icon.

      The Add Server dialog is displayed with the Single Server opiton as selected.

    3. Enter the name of the license server on which the licenses are deployed and the port number.
      Note:
      The default port number is 27000.
    4. Click OK.
  7. Click Finish to enable the floating license in the installed product.
You have configured the floating licenses for the installed product.
