Creating and assigning security tokens

If you are an IBM® DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel (Test Virtualization Control Panel) system administrator and you want to implement domain-level security, you can create and assign security tokens to individual users.

Before or after enabling domain-level security in Test Virtualization Control Panel, you have the option to create and assign security tokens to individual users.

Note: After enabling domain-level security, agents and proxies will not be able to register with Test Virtualization Control Panel unless you assign security tokens to them.

You can assign security tokens to individual agents and proxies or to groups of them.

  1. Log into Test Virtualization Control Panel.
  2. Click the Administration navigation link.

Alternatively, click the Administration icon on the Home page.

    The Administration page is displayed.

  3. Click the Security tab.

    The Security tab is displayed.

  4. Under Long-term tokens, click the required user name in the User list.
  5. In the Description field, enter a description for the security token.
Note: The description should state why the token is being created.
  6. Click Create.

A security token is created for the specified users and displayed on the list table under the Description field.

Note: If you want to delete a security token, click the red X button next to the token. A confirmation prompt is displayed.
