When you want to create a dataset by using variables that are configured in a test or a
suite, you can do so in Test Editor. In the dataset, each variable gets displayed as a column,
and you can update it by adding values to the columns.
Procedure

Click the
button displayed on the Test
Editor page.
The Edit button appears only when no active edit branch is
selected.
Alternatively, right-click the test in the test navigator panel and select
Edit.
The Edit branch dialog is displayed.
If the
Edit branch dialog is not displayed, then go to step
3.

Select an existing branch or create a new branch.

Click the Configure settings and data step in Test
Editor.
The Configure settings and data pane is displayed. If the test
contains the configured variables, then they are listed under the
Data section.

Click + Create Dataset in the Data
section.
The Create dataset dialog is displayed.

Perform the following steps in the Create dataset dialog:
- Select an application for which you want to create a dataset from the
Application drop-down list.
- Select an existing folder in Location to save the new
dataset.
- Enter a name for the dataset in Name.

Click Next.
All the variables available in the test are listed with a checkbox, and only the
Input

variables are
selected.

Select the variables to be part of the dataset.

Click Create.
A success message is displayed. The dataset created is listed under the logical folder
Datasets within the selected application.
Results
You have created a dataset by using the variables configured in
a test.
