Disabling test steps

When you want to exclude a step or a set of steps under a container from the test run, you can disable such steps in a Web UI test.

Before you begin

Procedure

  1. Click the Edit button displayed on the Test Editor page.

    The Edit button appears only when no active edit branch is selected.

    Alternatively, right-click the test in the test navigator panel and select Edit.

    The Edit branch dialog is displayed.
    If the Edit branch dialog is not displayed, then go to step #GUID-fc844d0d-ddb3-439d-a768-10237a95cb30__step_next.
  2. Select a step or a container with multiple steps.
    The step details pane is displayed.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Select the Disable checkbox.
    The selected step or set of steps under the selected container are greyed out.
  5. Click the Save icon to save the modifications.

Results

You have disabled a step or a set of steps.

What to do next

You can clear the Disable checkbox in the Advanced tab to enable the test step.
