Configuring the application in IBM DevOps Deploy

You must configure the application in IBM® DevOps Deploy (Deploy) to associate resources with environments and define processes to run test assets.

Before you begin

You must be familiar with working with Deploy.
You must have performed the following tasks:
- Been granted access to Deploy.
- Created a component in Deploy. See Creating a component in IBM DevOps Deploy.
- Created a process for the component in Deploy. See Creating a process in IBM DevOps Deploy.
- Configure the process for the component in Deploy. See Configuring the process in IBM DevOps Deploy.
- Created a resource in Deploy. See Creating a resource in IBM DevOps Deploy.
- Configured the resource in Deploy. See Configuring the resource in IBM DevOps Deploy.
- Created an application in Deploy. See Creating an application in IBM DevOps Deploy.

Procedure

Log in to Deploy, if you are not already logged in.
The Deploy dashboard is displayed.
Click Applications.
A list of applications that are available in Deploy is displayed.
Click the application that you want to configure from the Name column.
The Environments page for the selected application is displayed.
Perform the following steps to create an environment for the application that you selected:
1. Click Create Environment.
2. Enter a name for the environment in the Name field.
3. Click Save.
Perform the following steps to configure resources to the environment:
1. Click the environment that you created.
2. Click Add Base Resources.
  A list of resources that are available in Deploy is displayed.
3. Select the checkbox to add resources to the environment.
4. Click Save.
  You can view the corresponding agent and the component that you added for the resource by using the Expand icon.
Perform the following steps to add the component to the application:
1. Click Applications, and then select your application from the list.
2. Click the Components tab, and then Add Components.
3. Select the checkbox from the drop-down list to add components to the application.
4. Click Save.
Perform the following steps to create a process for the application:
1. Click the Processes tab, and then Create Process.
2. Enter a name for the process in the Name field.
3. Click Save.
  The Design tab for the process that you created is displayed.
Drag the component process listed under the Component Process Steps option from the left navigation pane and drop it into the design area.
Select the component process from the drop-down list in the Operational (No Version Needed) Process field.
Click Save.
Click the Edit icon, and then change the name of the properties.
Click OK, and then click Save.

Results

You have configured the application to run test assets from Deploy.
