Working with Loop Genie

You can use Loop Genie, an AI assistant, to retrieve information or perform tasks across multiple capabilities and loops within DevOps Loop. The results or actions are displayed directly in the chat interface.

You must have completed the following tasks:

An AI provider is configured on the Installed Integrations page. See AI provider integration for Loop Genie - Tech Preview.
Created a loop. See Creating a loop.

Click the button.
A chat interface is displayed with a greeting message: "Hello (username), How can I help you today?"
Perform any of the following actions:
1. Enter your prompt or query in the chat box
2. Navigate to Tasks tab and select the task you want Loop Genie to perform.
Click Send icon or press Enter.
Loop Genie processes your query, performs actions, or both, depending on the request. The results or actions are displayed directly in the chat interface.

During execution, Loop Genie displays tool activity within the conversation. For requests that involve multiple tools or large result sets, information may appear progressively as processing continues. Depending on your configuration, you can review:
- Tool names
- Tool parameters
- Execution status
- Tool results
Note: The output format might vary between AI providers, which can affect how responses are displayed in Loop Genie.
Optional: Click the icon to download the conversation in a .json format for later reference.
Optional: Click to close the Loop Genie.
