Managing agent pools

Agent pools represent collections of agents. When an agent pool is assigned to a project, any pool member can do the work.

Install and configure at least one agent.

Agent pools help you organize and manage agents. A pool can consist of one or more agents. There is no limit on the number of agents that can be assigned to a pool. You manage agent pools on the Agent Pool window. In the window is a table of defined agent pools.

From the table you can view agent pool details or remove an agent pool. To remove an agent click the delete icon (delete icon ) in the Actions column next to the agent pool name. To view or modify an agent pool, following the procedure below.

  1. On the left navigational panel, click Agent > Agent Pools.
  2. Click the name of the agent to view or modify.
    On the Main tab is a list of agents in the pool and a list of projects using the agent pool. Agent pool information is also displayed on the build life details page. From the build life you can see which agent was used by a process.
  3. To modify the name of the agent or description, click Edit. When finished click Save.
  4. If the agent is a fixed type pool, you can add and remove agents. Click Add/Remove Agents.
    1. Using the Add/Remove Agents window, select the agents that you want to add or remove.
    2. To add agents to the pool, select them from the Potential Agents list, then click the add icon Up arrow icon to add agent to pool.
    3. To remove agents from the pool, select them from the Agents in agent_name list, then click the remove icon ( Down arrow icon to remove agent from pool).
      The agents are moved to the potential agent list.
    4. Click Save.
  5. To review security assignments for an agent pool, select a pool then click Security.
    The Resource Security window displays the teams and users that can view and edit the pool.
