Testing Vault AppRole integration

You can test the Vault AppRole integration before you use the Vault property in a plug-in step.

Before you begin

You must have created a secret store and added an AppRole to the IBM DevOps Deploy (Deploy) secret store. See Adding Vault AppRoles to the Deploy secret store.

Procedure

  1. On the web UI, click Secret Stores > vaultname > App Roles.
  2. Click the menu options on the right-side of the desired AppRole.
  3. Click Test.
    The Test Vault AppRole window is displayed.
  4. Enter the Vault key or property you want to test in the Property field.
  5. If the secret ID is not configured for the role, specify the secret ID of the AppRole in the Secret Id field.
  6. Click Test.

    A message is displayed which indicates whether the test is successful or failed.

Results

You have tested the Vault AppRole integration.
