Upgrading agents as services on Windows using command-line
You can upgrade the currently running Deploy agent as a Windows service even though you initially didn’t install IBM® UrbanCode® Deploy agent as a service during the installation process.
Upgrading the agents to Windows service by using the command-line interference
Before you begin, stop the running agent. You can stop the agent from the
command-line or the server. To stop the agent from the command line, run the
following
command:
agent.cmd stop
Follow these steps to upgrade the agent to a Windows services by using the
command-line interface:
- Open the command prompt as an administrator.
- Change the directory to the agent's bin/init/service folder.
- Locate the ibm-ucdagent.cmd script.
- Run the ibm-ucdagent.cmd script with the following
argument:
ibm-ucdagent.cmd_agent.cmd install <service name>
Upgrading the compact agents to Windows service by using the command-line interference
Perform the following steps to upgrade the compact agents to Windows service:
- Go to <agent_installation_directory>/bin.
- Run the following
command:
run agent install-service
The compact agent is now upgraded to Windows service and appears as ibm-ucd-agent.
