Adding or removing installed features

You can use IBM® Installation Manager or the Eclipse p2 provisioning platform to add or remove installed features of the product. Use the same installation platform that you used to install the product.

Verifying installed features

To see which product features are installed:
  1. Start the product.
  2. Click Help > About IBM® Developer for z/OS®.
  3. Click Installation Details and then select the Installed Software tab.
  4. If you want to filter the list of installed software to more easily find the components you are interested in, type a string, such as DBB, Endevor, or Git, into the text field.
If your source files are located in a Git repository, a Jazz® repository, or on z/OS under control of the CA Endevor source control manager, verify that the features necessary for accessing these repositories are installed with the product. This table lists the product features needed to access each repository.

IBM Installation Manager

  1. Start IBM Installation Manager and click File > Preferences.
  2. Click Add Repository, then copy and paste one of these URLs into the Repository field:

  3. Click OK.
  4. To close the Preferences window, click OK.
  5. Click Modify, select the product and version you want to modify, and then click Next. The installer collects the file names and prepares the features for installation. This process might take several minutes.
  6. Follow the remaining installation wizard prompts to select features and languages to add or remove.
  7. When the installation completes, click Finish.

Eclipse p2 provisioning platform

To add a feature:
  1. Start the product.
  2. Click Help > Install New Software.
  3. Click Add, and then copy and paste one of these URLs into the Add Repository Location field and click OK. The product loads a list of available software into the window.

  4. Select the components you want to add, and then click Next. The installer gathers information and prepares the components for installation. This process might take several minutes.
  5. Review the items to be installed and click Next.
  6. Read and accept the license agreements and click Finish.
  7. If a security warning opens, click Install Anyway.
  8. If prompted to accept certificates, click Select All, and then click Accept selected. After installing the components, the client prompts you to restart the product.
  9. Click Restart Now.
To remove a feature:
  1. Start the product.
  2. Click Help > About IBM Developer for z/OS.
  3. Click Installation Details.
  4. Select the features you want to uninstall and then click Uninstall. The installer gathers information and prepares the components to be uninstalled. This process might take several minutes.
  5. Click Finish. After uninstalling the features, the client prompts you to restart the product.
  6. Click Restart Now.
