Adding support for Data Collector and Data Collector Service
Data Collector is a z/OS® Debugger feature that is used with the Test Accelerator for Z product and requires registration for that product. Data Collector can collect data for CICS, IMS and batch applications which can be later be used with the Early Development Testing on VS Code component.
For product enablement, see Product enablement in IFAPRDxx.
Note:
- Data Collector requires Java 17 or 21. After installation, you must configure z/OS to run Java applications.
- Data Collector is built on Eclipse and Java technology. Configuration options for Eclipse and Java might affect its behavior.
- Data Collector requires that Debug Profile Service is configured and running. Refer to Adding support for Debug Profile Service.
The Data Collector Service is provided as part of Remote Debug Service, and is used by the Early Development Testing on VS Code component of Test Accelerator for Z to access data and to create unit tests. For more information, refer to Adding Support for Data Collector Rest Service API.
