Working with instructions
The Manage Macro Files dialog allows you to manage, edit and create new instructions.
About this task
Procedure
- Do one of the following:
- In the HLASM tab of the Editor Options preference page, type the name of your user macro file in the User Macro File field.
- In the HLASM Parser preference page , type the name of your user macro file in the User Macro File field.
- Click on the Manage button next to the User Macro
File field. The Manage Macro Files dialog appears and, if specified, it will load the macro file from the User Macro File field.
- Select one of the following tabs:
- Macro Instructions
- Assembler Instructions
- Machine Instructions
- Optional. Use the New button to create new instructions.
- Optional. To filter the list of instructions:
- Specify text in the entry field above the instruction table. The table will only display entries that match the text.
- Optional. Click on the eraser icon to remove the filter text. All of the entries will be displayed.
- Specify text in the entry field above the instruction table.
- Optional. Edit existing instructions:
- Select an instruction from the instruction table.
- Click on the Edit button
The Define Instruction dialog appears.
- Make necessary changes to the instruction.
- Click OK to save your changes.
The instruction is modified. - Optional. To copy an existing instruction:
- Select an instruction from the instruction table.
- Click on the Copy button
The Define Instruction dialog appears.
- Make necessary changes to the instruction.
- Click Ok to save your changes.
The instruction is modified. - Optional. To delete existing instructions:
- Select one or more instructions to delete in the instruction table.
- Click Delete to delete the instructions.
The instructions will be removed from the table.
Note: You can also create, copy, edit and delete instructions by right-clicking in the instruction table.
