Requisite products

Developer for z/OS® has a list of prerequisite software that must be installed and operational before the product will work. There is also a list of corequisite software to support specific features of Developer for z/OS. These requisites must be installed and operational at runtime for the corresponding features to work as designed.

Plan ahead to have these requisite products available, as it might take some time, depending on the policies at your site. The key requisites for a basic setup are:
  • z/OS 2.5 or higher
  • IBM® Explorer for z/OS 3.4 (FMID HALG340)
  • Latest service release of Java™ 8.0 (31 or 64 bit) or higher
    Note: Java 17 or higher is required for the batch Code Coverage feature.
