File Definition editor

The File Definition editor is used to view and update file definitions. The attributes for the definition are displayed in pages in the editor, identified by tabs in the editor view. Each page contains one or more resource attributes, or properties, arranged in logical groups.

Descriptions of the file definition attributes are in Table 1. The pages in the File Definition editor are as follows:

Attributes

The Attributes page displays a list of all the attributes (properties) for the resource and the attribute values. The attributes are grouped together in the same way as they appear in CEDA or the CICSPlex® SM WUI.

Overview

The Overview page groups a number of attributes into the following logical sections:
Basic
The Basic section groups together the following attributes:
  • NAME
  • DESCRIPTION
  • CREATETIME
  • CHANGETIME
  • DEFVER
Initial Status
The Initial Status section contains the following attributes:
  • OPENTIME
  • STATUS
  • DISPOSITION
Recovery
The Recovery section contains the following attributes:
  • JNLADD
  • BACKUPTYPE
  • FWDRECOVLOG
Buffers
The Buffers section contains the following attributes:
  • DATABUFFERS
  • INDEXBUFFERS
User data
The User Data section contains the optional CICSPlex SM data attributes:
  • USERDATA1
  • USERDATA2
  • USERDATA3

VSAM

The VSAM page groups a number of VSAM related attributes into the following logical sections:
Data Set
The Data Set section groups together the following attributes:
  • DSNAME
  • PASSWORD
  • RLSACCESS
  • READINTEG
Resource Sharing
The Resource Sharing section contains the following attributes:
  • LSRPOOLID
  • NSRGROUP
Name sharing
The Name sharing section contains the following attribute:
  • DSNSHARING
Requests
The Requests section contains the following attribute:

Remote and CF

The Remote and CF page groups a number of related attributes into the following logical sections:
