Fast views are hidden views, which can be quickly made
visible. They work in the same way as normal views, but when they
are hidden they do not take up screen space on the Workbench window.
Before you begin
You can create a fast view in three different ways:
- Using drag and drop.
- Right-clicking the view tab and using the menu for the view.
- Using the Show View as Fast View icon in the shortcut bar
in the workbench window.
To create a fast view using drag and drop, do the following:
- Position your cursor on the view tab and left-click the mouse.
- Drag the cursor over the shortcut bar in the workbench window.
- When the cursor is over the shortcut bar, release the mouse button
to drop the view on to the shortcut bar. The view icon appears next
to the Fast View icon.
To create a fast view using the view tab menu:
- Position your cursor on the view tab and right-click the mouse.
The view tab menu is displayed.
- Click Fast View. The view is removed from the workbench,
and the view icon appears in the shortcut in the workbench window.
To create a fast view using the Show View as Fast View icon:
- Click the Show View as Fast View icon in the shortcut bar
in the workbench window.
- Click Other.... Expand the view sets as necessary, select
the view that you want to make a fast view, and then click OK.
The icon for the selected view appears in the shortcut bar.
What to do next
Clicking the view icon in the shortcut bar restores the
view in the CICS Explorer® tab
group. You can move the view to another tab group.
