CICS Explorer® keeps
a record of your previous search history. You can open each history
record to see the results in the search view, or you can open the
results in a new view to compare one or more results.
About this task
This procedure describes how to view the previous search
history, increase the number of saved result sets, and compare result
sets.
Procedure
- If the Search view is not already open, click Window
> Show View > Other from the main menu bar, and in the
text field type Search and click OK. The Search view opens.
- Click the Show Previous Searches icon
.
Results
The Previous Searches dialog opens.
You can now perform one of the following
actions:
- To display the search result in the Search view, click a search
result and click Open. The result is displayed
in the existing Search view.
- To display the search result in a new Search view, click a search
result and click Open in New. The result is
displayed in a new Search view. Using drag-and-drop you can move the
search views so you can see both views, and compare the contents.
Note: If
you want to have more than two search views open at any one time you
must use the
Pin icon

to pin the
open search views. Pinning the search view means that subsequent searches
will show their results in another search view, and that the pinned
view remains unchanged.
- To change the number of search results that are saved, click Configure.
In the History Size dialog
type
the number to save and click OK.
