Show tasks from the same point of origin

You can use transaction tracking to identify active tasks with the same origin IP address. The address might be the address of a workstation or a web service. You might do this if you have a number of unresponsive tasks and you are trying to determine if a particular origin point is causing the tasks to hang.

About this task

This procedure describes how to identify all the tasks that originate from the same IP address.

Procedure

Open the Task Associations view and locate the unresponsive task. Right-click the task and click Search > Tasks from Origin IP address.

Results

The results are displayed in the Search view. The view shows all the currently active tasks that originated from the IP address. Using the information you can identify the unresponsive task that is causing the problem.

A screen capture of the Search view showing the tasks originating from the selected IP address. The IP address is identified in the view status field underneath the view tab.

You can run the search again by clicking the Search again icon The Search again icon, or by clicking F5.
