Show tasks coming across the same IPIC connection

You can use transaction tracking to identify all active tasks that come across the same IPIC connection. This might be useful if particular IPIC connection is experiencing a problem with lots of transactions queueing up on it because previous tasks are not finishing quickly enough. With this search you can get a list of the active tasks and identify any that have stopped responding.

About this task

This procedure describes how to identify all the tasks that come across the same IPIC connection. The search uses the resolved IPv4 or IPv6 address of the host, or client, to which this IPCONN applies.

Procedure

Open the IPIC Connections view and locate the IPIC connection. Right-click the IPIC connection and click Search > Tasks from IPresolved.

Results

The results are displayed in the Search view. The view shows all the currently active tasks that originated from the client IP address, which in this case is the IPCONN client that started the task. The IP address is identified in the view status field under the view tab.

Note: Multiple CICS® regions can share the same IP address, therefore the search results might also identify tasks that did not come across the target IPIC connection, but instead came across an IPIC connection from a different CICS region with the same IP address.

A screen capture of the Search view showing the tasks from the selected client IP address. The IP address is identified in the view status field under the view tab.

You can run the search again by clicking the Search again icon The Search again icon, or by clicking F5.
