You can use the Deletion tab to
specify rules for removing old autocomments from changed lines before
new autocomments are inserted into these lines.
Procedure
To edit the deletion options, complete the following
steps:
- In the dialog box (for the type of language profile that
you want to edit), click the Deletion tab.
- From the Start Column list, select
the value that you want to specify as the first column to search for
old autocomments.
Tip: Any text that appears
before this start column is not deleted.
- In the End Column group, do one
of the following:
- To search for old autocomments in or before the start column,
click the End Column radio button.
- To restrict the deletion of old autocomments to a specified
range, click the Column Number radio button,
and then select the end column number from the list.
- In the Delete Words with Prefixes group,
complete the following steps:
- In the Add field, type a prefix
string that you want to delete, and then click Add to
add the prefix string to the list.
For example, if you
want to delete all old autocomments that contain the initials AKR,
a date, and a comment delimiter of /*, then type /* AKR.
- To remove a prefix string from the list, click the string
that you want to remove, and then click Remove.
- Click Apply to save your selections
in the Deletion tab.
