Save actions
You can use the Save Action preference page to configure actions that are performed by the PL/I Editor when you save a file.
Procedure
In the Preferences window, click .
You can set these save options:
Perform the selected actions on save: If checked, the selected actions are enabled when saving a file.
The Source Files section contains formatting actions to occur when saving
a source file. If the Format source code option is enabled, you can select
one or more of the following formatting features to occur on each save of the source code. Format
features are defined on the Formatter preference.
- Remove trailing whitespace
- Remove spaces from the end of all lines within the file.
- Format source code
- Select one or more formatting features to occur on each save of the source code. Format features
are defined on the Formatter. Select Apply all formatting
options for all Formatter preferences to be performed during a
save. Select Apply only capitalization options.
- Select Apply all formatting options for all Formatter preferences to performed during a save.
- Select Apply only capitalization options for options related to capitalization to performed during a save.
The Include Files section contains formatting actions to occur when the saving an include file. Select Remove trailing whitespace to remove spaces from the end of all lines within the file.
The Character Encodings section contains an option to display a warning when a character in a file cannot be translated to EBCDIC.
The File truncation warning section contains setting of file truncation
warning when saving the file.
- Select Enable maximum line length and specify the maximum line length allowed before a truncation warning is issued.
