Filtering actions by file type

You can customize the Actions and Menus tabs in the Actions and Menus preference page to filter the available actions by file type. You can filter actions by file type only for files that contain action and menu definitions for files. You cannot use the Menu Manager to filter files that contain action and menu definitions for projects and subprojects.

To filter actions by file type, complete the following steps:

1. Click Window (on Windows) or IBM® Developer for z/OS® (on macOS) > Preferences.
   The Preferences window opens.
2. In the Preferences window, double-click Menu Manager, and select Actions and Menus.
   The Actions and Menus preference window opens.
3. In the tab where you want to filter the actions by file type, click Filter by File Types
   The Filter Selection window opens.
4. Select the file types that you want to display by doing one of the following steps:
   • Select the checkbox for each file type that you want to display.
   • Clear the checkbox for any file type that you do not want to display.
   • To display all of the listed file types, click Select All.
   • To display none of the listed file types, click Deselect All.
5. To save your selections and close the Filter Selection window, click OK.
   Your selections are saved for the current session only; changes are not saved when you close the Actions and Menus preference page.
