The RAM provides the ability to specify a CARMA member is read-only through the use of a specific metadata key: carma.read-only

If a RAM sets the value of carma.read-only on a member to “TRUE”, “YES”, or “Y” (case insensitive), then the client will mark that member as read-only and prevent calls to putMember.

Note: The metadata key carma.read-only is new in Rational® Developer for System z® Version 8.5. Previous versions of the CARMA client do not support this metadata.

Note: The read-only functionality only applies to putMember. Copy to and from RAM remain unchanged.
