Duplicating and adding an action

You can use the Menu Manager to duplicate an existing action and add it as a new action with a different name.

Procedure

To duplicate and add an action, complete the following steps:

  1. Click Window (on Windows) or IBM® Developer for z/OS® (on macOS) > Preferences.
    The Preferences window opens.
  2. In the Preferences window, double-click Menu Manager, and select Actions and Menus.
    The Actions and Menus preference window opens.
  3. In the Menus tab, expand the menu that contains the action you want to duplicate and add, right-click the action, and then select Duplicate and Add.
    The Duplicate Item window opens.
  4. In the Choose a name for the duplicate item field, type the name that you want to display for the copy of the action.
    Note: You must specify a new name for the copy of the action; you cannot use the name of the original action.
  5. To create the copy and close the Duplicate Item window, click OK.

Results

The copy of the action is displayed in the menu that contains the original action.

What to do next

You can move this new action to another menu by dragging it to the menu that you want it to display in.
