Limitations: Baseline software analysis

Be aware of limitations that apply to baseline software analysis.

  • Baseline archives contain copies of your proprietary source code and must be treated with the same security concerns as the original source code.
  • The system does not prevent changes to the scope or rules of a software analysis configuration after the baseline is taken.
  • Changes to file names, folder names, and folder structure can allow code violations in the baseline version of the source code to be included in code review results.
  • The code review application for Windows is not supported.
  • Push-to-client does not support baseline archives.
  • Baseline archives cannot be edited.
  • In-editor baseline software analysis with a local history scans only the file that is open in the editor. It does not scan referenced copybooks or include files.
  • Support for remote files is limited to the language editors and is one file at a time.
  • When you export or import baseline archives, the software analysis configurations that are used to create them must also be reused.
