Importing a license file

Db2® for z/OS® Development tooling uses the IBM® Data Server Driver for JDBC and SQLJ (sometimes referred to as the JDBC driver) to manage connectivity between the Eclipse Java™ platform and the Db2 for z/OS subsystem.
This driver requires a license to be either activated on the Db2 for z/OS server, or imported into the IBM Developer for z/OS client. Your DB2® administrator can tell you if importing a client license file is necessary. If you attempt to connect to Db2 and a license file is required, the product prompts you to import it.

  1. Obtain the IBM Data Server Driver for JDBC and SQLJ client license file from your Db2 administrator or the person who manages product licensing at your site.
  2. In the Remote Systems view, expand a z/OS system connection, and then expand the Db2 for z/OS subsystem.
  3. Expand Db2 for z/OS Connections.
  4. Right-click the Db2 connection and click Import Db2 for z/OS License.
  5. In the file system navigation window, navigate to the location of the db2jcc_license_cisuz.jar file and click Open.
  6. Restart the product when prompted.
