When viewing the help contents, you can perform a local
search to find further information.
Before you begin
The search entry field is in the Help Contents window.
- To search for a single word expression, type it in the search
field, and click Go. The search results are displayed in another
pane as a list of links to the topics containing the word. You can
display or hide the result descriptions by clicking the Show results
descriptions icon.
- To search for a multiple word expression, type it in the search
field enclosed by double quotes, for example "CICS region",
and click Go. By enclosing the expression in double quotes,
you are telling the search to return only results containing the complete
expression. If you do not enclose it in double quotes, the search
finds all instances of the word "CICS®" and
all instances of the word "region" whether or not they are together.
What to do next
Any help search performed from the help contents window
searches only the help contents. To perform a search on a remote information
center, or the Web, you must set your search scope to include remote
sites. You must do this using the search pane in the dynamic Help
view. See the following related links for further information.
