Searching in the Remote Console

In the Remote Console view you can search for text strings and regular expressions.

1. To open the Find dialog in the Remote Console, do one of the following steps in the Remote Console view:
   • Click the search icon () on the toolbar.
   • Click Edit > Find/Replace from the main menu.
   • Press Ctrl+F.
2. To search in the Remote Console view, complete the following steps:
   1. Select the Forward or Backward search direction button to search forward or backward from your current cursor location.
   2. Optional. Select the Case Sensitive check box if the search is case-sensitive.
   3. Optional. Select the Wrap Search check box if the search wraps at the end of the file.
   4. Optional. Select the Whole Word check box to restrict the search to whole words.
   5. Optional. Select the Incremental check box to enable the incremental search.
      When you select this option, each letter that you type in the Find field causes the first complete occurrence of the text to be highlighted in the Remote Console view.
   6. Optional. Select the Regular Expressions check box if you want to use regular expressions in your search.
   Note: The foreground and background colors that are used in the Remote Console view for the search results can be set in the Colors and Fonts preference page.
