C/C++ parser actions

When you work C and C++ with files in the z Systems® LPEX Editor, several parser-specific actions are available from pop-up menus within the editor.

Opening declarations
You can use the Open Declaration action to open the declaration of a selected C/C++ language element.
Opening definitions
You can use the Open Definition action to open the definition of a selected C/C++ language element.
Opening remote header files
You can open remote header files in the z Systems LPEX Editor.
Formatting text
When editing C/C++ files in z Systems LPEX Editor, it is possible to format your text to improve its appearance. The C/C++ formatter uses the preferences you have set on the Code Style preference page.
Correcting indentation in the z Systems LPEX Editor
When you edit C and C++ files in the z Systems LPEX Editor, you can correct the indentation of your code and thus improve its appearance. The preferences you have set on the Code Style preference page determine whether the editor uses tabs or spaces to correct indentation.
Creating a new template based on selected code
You can create new templates based on selected code in order to use custom code snippets.
Commenting and uncommenting C and C++ code in the z Systems LPEX Editor
When editing C and C++ files you can convert lines to comment lines or uncomment lines in the z Systems LPEX Editor.
Using the remote syntax check
You can use the Remote Syntax Check action to syntax check a JCL script that will be submitted to compile the C/C++ PDS member open in the z Systems LPEX Editor, parse any errors that are returned, and add them to the Remote Error List.
