Refreshing include files within the editor

Use the Refresh Include File actions to refresh the local copy of an include file in the editor. The refresh action causes a download of the latest version of the file on the server. Changes that are made in the local version of the file are integrated into the refreshed version.

Before you begin

  • PL/I Editor
  • z Systems® LPEX Editor
For the refresh action to be available in the editor, the include file must be in SYSLIB. Ensure that your property group settings are defined correctly and that the data sets and members are correctly allocated.

Procedure

  1. Select an include file name in a program file open in the editor.
  2. Right-click and select Refresh Include Member from the menu.
    You can also refresh all dependent include files in the editor by using the Refresh Dependencies menu item or keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+D.
  3. If you modify the file, you are prompted to save the file with another name.
