Viewing autocomment messages

When you use a language profile for autocommenting, that profile might specify conditions that must be satisfied before a change flag is inserted. If these conditions are not met, a change flag is not inserted on the line. For information on why a change flag was not inserted, view the information messages provided by the autocomment feature.

Before you begin

To view messages in a file, you must first set the option for autocomment messages to On; this option only applies to the current file.

Procedure

To invoke the autocomment message option, complete the following steps:

  1. In the editor, right-click to open the pop-up menu.
  2. Select Change Flag > Start Displaying Information Messages.

Results

Messages appear in the information area. For example, if you edit a blank line (line 34), the following message appears in the information area:
Line 34 is Blank. No Autocomment Placed.
