Workload management
Unlike traditional z/OS® applications, Developer for z/OS is not a monolithic application that can be identified easily to Workload Manager (WLM). Developer for z/OS consists of several components that interact to give the client access to the host system services and data. To plan your WLM configuration, see "WLM considerations" in the Host Configuration Reference.
Note: Developer for z/OS consists
of multiple tasks that communicate with each other and the client.
These tasks use various timers to detect communication loss with their
partners. Timeout issues can arise (due to lack of CPU time during
the timeout window) on systems with a heavy CPU load or incorrect
Workload Management (WLM) settings for Developer for z/OS.
