Remote system files

IBM® Developer for z/OS® provides a set of remote system files that are the remote builders and tools that are required for remote access and remote actions (including remote builds).

These remote system files are ininstall_location\Config\host, where install_location is the location where you installed IBM Developer for z/OS.
Note: Transfer these files to your remote system. You can maintain one copy of these files in a common directory (for example, /usr/bin) that all users can reference. Update the PATH environment variable for each user to include this common directory.

The set of remote system files includes the following types of files:

  • Manuals for builders in z/OS UNIX System Services
  • Builders and tools in z/OS UNIX System Services
  • JCL submit utilities in PDS

The as.1 file is the manual for the builders on z/OS UNIX System Services.

Builders and tools on z/OS UNIX System Services

The following files are the builders and tools that are required for remote actions:
  • BBSSUB
  • as

JCL submit utilities in PDS

The following files are required for the JCL submit action in IBM Developer for z/OS:
  • BBSSEND.obj
  • BBSLINK.JCL
