Adding a remote file to an MVS subproject

You can add a remote file to an MVS™ subproject by using a menu command or by dragging a file.

From the z/OS Projects view

Procedure

  1. Select the MVS subproject that you want to add resources to.
  2. From the menu, select Add Resources.
    The Add Resources to Subproject window opens. It lists all data set filters that are defined for the remote system connection.
  3. To select resources to add:
    • Click Select All to add all resources to the subproject.
    • Select the check box beside a filter name to add all resources from that filter.
    • Click + to expand a filter and then select the check box beside a file name to add individual files.
  4. Click OK to add your selections to the subproject.

From the Remote Systems view

Procedure

To add a remote file to your MVS subproject by using a menu command from the Remote Systems view:

  1. Switch to the z/OS Projects perspective.
  2. Select the Remote Systems view.
  3. Select the remote file that you want to add to your MVS subproject.
  4. Right-click and select Add to Subproject.
  5. Type or select the subproject name and click Finish.

Drag method

Procedure

To add a remote file to an MVS subproject by using the drag method:

  1. Switch to the z/OS Projects perspective.
  2. Select the Remote Systems view.
  3. Select the remote file that you want to add to your MVS subproject.
  4. Drag the file to an MVS subproject in the z/OS Projects view.
    The subproject must be connected to the same MVS system from which the file originated.
