Commands

The following commands are available.

autoComment Restore
The autoComment Restore command restores the last saved option values for the language profile currently in use.
autoComment Save
The autoComment Save command saves the current option values to the specified language profile.
autoComment On
The autoComment On command invokes the autocomment feature for the current file.
autoComment Off
The autoComment Off command turns the autocomment feature off for the current file.
autoComment Messages
The autoComment Messages command specifies if messages should be displayed in the LPEX information area to explain why an autocomment was not inserted into a particular line.
autoComment Set
The autoComment Set command sets the value of <option_name> to <option_value> for the current file.
autoComment Query
The autoComment Query command determines the value of the <option_name> parameter for the current file.
autoComment Force
The autoComment Force command inserts an auto comment into the last changed line within the current file.
autoComment Insert
The autoComment Insert command inserts an auto comment into any line in the current file that you move your cursor to.
Command messages
The autocomment feature provides the following informational messages regarding autocomment insertion.
queryUserMacroF1HelpFile
The queryUserMacroF1HelpFile command determines the name and location of the user macro context-sensitive help file that is currently being used by the parser.
reloadUserHelpFile
The reloadUserHelpFile command reloads the context-sensitive help from the user macro context-sensitive help mapping file that you specified in the User Macro F1 Help Files section in the HLAsm tab or CPP tab of the Editor Options preference page, the C/C++ Parser preference page, or the HLAsm Parser preference page. This is useful when you modify entries in the user macro help file and want the parser to reread this file and load any new entries.
setBranchColoring
The setBranchColoring command specifies if branch coloring should be used in the current file.
queryBranchColoring
The queryBranchColoring command determines if branch coloring is enabled for the current file.
setCustomColoring
The setCustomColoring command turns the custom coloring feature on and off for the current file.
queryCustomColoring
The queryCustomColoring command determines if custom coloring is enabled for the current file.
setCustomColorFile
The setCustomColorFile command sets the location of a predefined custom color file. Since all files that use the HLAsm parser use the same custom color file, this command sets the color file for all files.
queryCustomColorFile
You can use the queryCustomColorFile command to view the location of the custom color file that is currently being used by the parser.
setCaseLevel
The setCaseLevel command sets the case sensitivity level (used by the HLAsm parser) for the current file. When the parser encounters an instruction in the source file, it uses a syntax definition for that instruction to determine if the instruction and the operands specified in the source file are correct. The case sensitivity affects how that check is performed.
queryCaseLevel
The queryCaseLevel command determines the case level setting for the current file.
setMargin
The setMargin command draws a vertical line in the editor. For example in, when the HLAsm parser preference for showing margins is enabled, margin lines are drawn at the start of columns 72, 73 and 81.
setTPFMacrosFile
You can use the setTPFMacrosFile command to modify the definitions used by the HLAsm parser. This command only applies to the editor session in which it is issued.
queryTPFMacrosFile
The queryTPFMacrosFile command determines the name and location of the macros file that is currently being used by the parser.
reloadTPFMacrosFile
The reloadTPFMacrosFile command reloads the macro definitions from the macro file that you specified in the Base Macro File field in the HLAsm tab of the Editor Options preference page or the HLAsm Parser preference page. This is useful when you modify definitions in the macro file and want the parser to reread this file and load any changes.
setUserMacrosFile command
The setUserMacrosFile command defines the location of a user macro file. This command only applies to the editor session in which it is issued. Since all files that use the HLAsm parser use the same user macros file, this command sets the user macros file for all files.
queryUserMacrosFile
The queryUserMacrosFile command determines the name and location of the user macros definition file that is currently being used by the parser.
reloadUserMacrosFile
The reloadUserMacrosFile command reloads the user macro definitions from the macro file that you specified in the User Macro File field in the HLAsm tab of the Editor Options preference page or the HLAsm Parser preference page. This is useful when you modify definitions in the user macro file and want the parser to reread this file and load any new definitions.
z Systems LPEX Editor
LPEX is an extensible editor framework that you can use to edit a variety of file types.
Importing file contents into the editor
You can use the Get File action to select a file whose contents you want to copy into the file that is currently open in the z Systems® LPEX Editor.
Setting line breaks
You can use the Line Breaks preference page to set the line break preferences for the z Systems LPEX Editor. This setting applies to all files using the z Systems LPEX Editor, regardless of which parser they use.
Peeking at find all results
You can use the Peek action to view lines surrounding the find all results in the editor.
