File editors
The workstation provides several editors for source files and uses the file extension to associate editors with files. Some editors are more robust than others and are limited to selected file extensions. You might want to start with the z Systems® LPEX Editor because it provides an easier skill transfer from ISPF.
The z Systems LPEX Editor
can be used to edit COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, and JCL files. However,
so that you have some idea of the different editors, the following
table shows the available editors and the type of files that each
editor opens.
