Measurements
The following tables show the supported combinations of aggregations, group-by fields, and charts.
Metric
A metric represents a calculated value based on data items, constants, or computed expressions. Metrics can represent counts, averages, or other summary values.
| Aggregations | No group by | One group by | Two group by | Three or more group by |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One aggregation | Gauge (radial), Gauge (linear), Text, Table | Pie, Donut, Bar, Text, Table | Hierarchical pie, Bar, Heat map, Table | Hierarchical pie, Table |
| Two aggregations | Table | Scatter, Table | Table | Table |
| Three aggregations | Table | Bubble, Table | Table | Table |
Period Metric
A period metric is a time-based metric that uses a timestamp field to show values over time.
| Aggregations | No group by | One group by |
|---|---|---|
| One aggregation | Line, Bar, Table | Line, Bar, Heat map, Scatter, Table |
| Two aggregations | Table | Bubble, Table |
| Three or more aggregations | Table | Table |
Key Performance Indicator (KPI)
A KPI tracks progress toward a specific performance objective. KPIs are useful for highlighting key results or threshold-based performance targets.
| Aggregations | No group by | One group by | Two group by |
|---|---|---|---|
| One aggregation | Gauge (radial), Gauge (linear), Text, Table | Bar, Text, Table | Bar, Table |
Period KPI
A period KPI measures performance over a defined time interval. It combines KPI evaluation with time-based visualization.
| Aggregations | No group by | One group by |
|---|---|---|
| One aggregation | Line, Bar, Table | Line, Bar, Table |
Data Table
A data table displays selected data fields and calculated values in a tabular format. It is useful for comparing related results or listing multiple metrics. HTTPS URLs in data table cells appear as links that you can click. A confirmation dialog appears the first time that you open a link for a domain before you navigate outside Decision Intelligence. Links from confirmed domains open without the dialog, which appears again only for new domains.
Visualization type: Table only.
Drill-down
You can use a drill-down measurement to explore data progressively, moving from summary information to detailed subsets. It can be applied to charts such as Bar, Pie, Line, or Scatter to visualize relationships across levels.
Supported drill-down by measurement type:
Metric: Pie, Donut, Bar
Period metric: Bar, Line, Heat map, Scatter
KPI: Bar
Period KPI: Bar, Line
