Group by

Use a Group by field to categorize your monitored data and compare aggregated values across different segments.

A Group by field splits your chart results into categories so you can see how each segment contributes to a metric. When a Group by is added, Decision Insights calculates the selected aggregation, such as Count, Sum, Average, or Standard deviation, separately for each unique value of the Group by field.

Group by works with categorical fields, such as keyword, boolean, and enumeration values defined in your data model. Number and date fields are not supported.

Depending on the visualization type, you can add one or more Group by fields. Some chart types show multiple groups as stacked or grouped categories. If no Group by field is added, the chart displays a single aggregated value for the entire dataset.

Grouping helps you compare segments, identify patterns, and understand how different categories influence your aggregated results.
