Exporting chart data

You can export the data that is displayed in a chart to analyze it outside of Decision Insights or to share results with others.

Before you begin

You can export data only from charts that display aggregated or tabular values. Text-based visualizations and gauges do not support data export.

About this task

Exporting chart data is useful when you want to perform additional analysis in spreadsheet tools, generate offline reports, or archive specific data snapshots. Exported data does not include visualization settings, filters, or calculated fields beyond what appears in the chart. Use CSV when you work with spreadsheet or business intelligence tools, and use TSV when you work with systems that require tab-separated values.

Procedure

  1. Open the dashboard that contains the chart.
  2. Select the chart’s overflow menu Open and close the list of options..
  3. Choose Export to ….
  4. Select the file format (CSV or TSV). You can choose to include the chart title and description.
  5. Click Export.
  6. The file is saved in your local workstation.

Results

A file that contains the chart data is downloaded. The exported file includes only the values that are displayed in the chart at the time of export. If dashboard filters or chart-level filters are applied, the exported data reflects those filters.
