Displaying values in charts
You can display values and percentages directly on charts from the Visualization
tab when you edit a chart. The availability of these options depends on the chart you are
editing.
The options available in the Visualization tab vary depending on the selected charts. This page explains how to display values directly on charts when these options are available.
Displaying values can be useful when you want to see numeric results directly in the chart without relying on legends.
Note: Displaying values and percentages directly on charts is supported only for bar and pie charts.
Displaying values in bar charts
You can display values directly on bars in bar charts:
- Open a bar chart in edit mode.
- Go to the Visualization tab.
- In Display value format, choose one of the following:
- Hide: Do not display values.
- Value: Display the numeric value.
- Percentage: Display the percentage.
- Select the value position:
- Center
- Above
- Top
Displaying values in pie charts
Pie charts offer additional value display options:
- Open a pie chart in edit mode.
- Go to the Visualization tab.
- In Display value format, select one of the following:
- Hide
- Value
- Percentage
- Item and value
- Item and percentage
- Item, value, and percentage
Values are displayed next to chart slices, making it easier to interpret charts with many items.
