Launching a debug session for z/OS UNIX applications

You can start a debug session directly from the Remote Systems view, or you can create a launch configuration for the z/OS UNIX application that you want to debug.

About this task

When you use the Remote Systems view to start a debug session, the Debug action that you use creates a launch configuration for you. To launch a debug session from the Remote Systems view, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Switch to the Remote System Explorer perspective.
  2. In the Remote Systems view, right-click the executable that you want to debug to open the pop-up menu.
  3. Select Debug > z/OS UNIX application to launch a debug session.
Note: When you select the first z/OS UNIX application action from the Debug submenu, a new launch configuration is created using default values. When you select the second z/OS UNIX application action from the Debug submenu, the Debug launch configuration dialog box opens, populated with information about the application. You can choose to use the existing information, edit the information, or manually create a launch configuration.
